Mission Statement: To provide and promote life-long recreational and entertainment activities for all members of the North Idaho community. To make available youth and family recreational opportunities which are cost effective and accessible to all economic classes in the North Idaho region.
The Kootenai Youth Recreation Organization was established in the Spring of 2000 to save North Idaho’s only ice skating facility from permanently closing. KYRO, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation, is currently fulfilling its mission and more! Not only has KYRO kept the ice facility operating, in September of 2004, KYRO purchased the ice rink and surrounding land. (Locate Us)

Phase 1 – Renovation and seasonal operation of the KYRO Ice Center.

Phase 2 – Kootenia Youth Recreation Organization, Inc. (KYRO Arena) collapsed in December, 2008 due to the record snow fall in our area. Over 40 businesses in North Idaho and the Spokane areas collapsed. We are currently working towards the construction of a new facility (NHL Size sheet) with a projected opening date of September, 2010. Keep checking back for updates.
